BERLIN MARATON

The BMW BERLIN-MARATHON is one of the world’s largest and most popular marathons, taking place in Berlin on September 27, 2026. The race is famous for its record-breaking, exceptionally flat course, which passes many of the city’s most beautiful landmarks. Thanks to its diversity and the city’s unique energy, the event offers a special experience not only for professional runners but also for running enthusiasts. The race is part of the Abbott World Marathon Majors series, and participants can choose from a range of options, including charity running, inline skating, and the Generali 5K.

On race day, clothing and valuables cannot be checked in at the start area, but every finisher receives a warm, reusable poncho free of charge at the finish. Clothing check can be booked for €5, but in that case no poncho is provided. Race packets can only be collected in person at the MARATHON EXPO, with photo ID and a start card. Participants receive a 4-day public transport ticket for the duration of the event. Runners can also place their own refreshments on the course with advance registration and labeling. The Generali 5K starts on September 26 at 10:00. The start is at Potsdamer Platz, and the finish is on Straße des 17. Juni, beyond the Brandenburg Gate. Inline skating, a 5 km run, and charity options are also available at the event. Details about registration, race day, and fundraising options can be found on the official website.
