NYAKVÁGÓ MARATON

The Nyakvágó Marathon is a challenging trail-running race in the Kiskunság region, near Ballószög. It offers the marathon distance, but in tougher conditions. Distances include 14 km, 22.5 km and 42 km, as well as a mountain-bike race. The course runs through natural surroundings on agricultural dirt roads, with aid stations every 4–5 kilometres. The event aims to promote an active lifestyle and bring the local community together. Competitors must protect the environment and follow the rules; mountain bikers are required to wear helmets.

Refreshments are provided every 4–5 kilometres, including water, glucose tablets and fruit; alcoholic refreshments are available at the finish. Wearing a helmet is compulsory for mountain biking. T-shirts can be ordered until August 10 and cost 5,000 HUF. The race runs on agricultural dirt roads, and participants must observe traffic rules. Competitors must protect the environment; littering will result in disqualification. The event includes chip timing, various running and cycling races, and hikes, giving participants the opportunity to explore the natural scenery and take part in sports.
